BARCELONA
A metropolis by the sea, one hour from Can Portell. Behind the shore, a melting pot of a thousand years of cultural crosspollination is awaiting you. If it happens somewhere, it is here. Ambiance, culture and the latest trends meet in Barcelona. The old city is a joy to walk through and has a number of specific neighbourhoods, each with their own character: El Borne, El Barrio Gótico, La Barceloneta, Raval, Port Vell, Tibidabo and Montjuïc.
El Barrio Gótico is one of the oldest neighbourhoods. Roam around the narrow alleyways, sit yourself down on a terrace in one of the many squares, or shop till you drop. El Barone has the nicest restaurants and the newest shops. Do not forget the lovely Park de la Ciutadella! Trendy Raval is the most western neighbourhood of Barcelona’s old city centre. Raval is multi-ethnic and off-beat. Barceloneta and Port Vell cover the coastline of Barcelona. It is reminiscent of London’s Notting Hill, with luxury apartments, hotels, restaurants, shopping centers and a nice port. And, of course, the hotspot in the area, the famous Barcelona beach. The Gràcia neighbourhood is known for Gaudí’s Park Güell. But do not forget his Casa Batllo and the Sagrada Familia. Away from the city centre, you will find the football stadium Camp Nou, which opens its doors every day. You will count 85,000 seats.
