Embroidery is very mindful. The repetitive movements of needle and thread on soft fabric create a wonderful sense of calm. Creating with your hands helps quiet your mind. Most of the time, anyway\u2026 sometimes it can be quite a challenge ;-).<\/p>\n
During these four days, you\u2019ll create your own unique freehand embroidery. Especially for this retreat, I\u2019ve explored Mexican-Spanish embroidery techniques and created a variety of designs.<\/p>\n
I\u2019ll teach you Mexican techniques for colourful embroidery on a piece of clothing. These techniques also work beautifully on a cushion, wall hanging or table runner. Of course, you can also embroider and decorate a photograph printed on fabric in a Spanish-Mexican style.<\/p>\n
I\u2019ll bring embroidery designs featuring flowers: flowers on clothing, flowers in a vase, flowers on a photograph, flowers\u2026<\/p>\n
You\u2019ll embroider whatever you love, in your favourite colours and style.<\/p>\n
Before the retreat, I\u2019ll be in touch with you about your wishes so I can prepare everything in advance.<\/p>\n
My guidance before the retreat, for example when choosing the photograph you\u2019d like to embroider and developing your ideas. This allows us to decide in advance what your larger project will be.<\/p>\n
During the retreat, I\u2019ll guide you through the embroidery process, from choosing the design and embroidery stitches to selecting the colours. Everything is done together and tailored to your wishes.<\/p>\n
You\u2019ll receive an embroidery starter kit and a goodie bag including an embroidery hoop and a photograph printed on fabric. Well before departure, you\u2019ll receive an email with practical information and some questions, so I can take your personal wishes into account.<\/p>\n
You\u2019ll also be able to use all of my embroidery materials. I\u2019ll bring examples and inspiring books as well.<\/p>\n
The retreat lasts four days and includes a total of three nights at a special accommodation at Can Portell, either in the house or in the garden. Most rooms are twin rooms with two separate beds. In some cases, you\u2019ll share bathroom facilities, which may also be located outside your room.<\/p>\n
