In 2021, I spent a week staying with Debbie in her lovely little paradise.<\/p>\n
One year later, Debbie called me to ask if I would like to teach a workshop on \u201ctheater for beginners\u201d to give.<\/p>\n
That sounded like a good idea to me.<\/p>\n
I think that after 50 years of experience in the field, I have a thing or two to say about that.
\nI\u2019ve actually had the pleasure of teaching this course six times over the past few years.
\nAnd I\u2019m doing it again this year\u2014with great pleasure.<\/p>\n

Among other things, you’ll come up with your own characters to play, and I’ll give you improvisation prompts.<\/p>\n
We’ll also act out existing scenes and discuss them.<\/p>\n

If you have a scene or song of your own that you’d like to work on, that’s fine, too.<\/p>\n

Many aspects of the theater profession will be explored.
\nDepending on your preferences and abilities.<\/p>\n
You don’t need any experience to have, but you do have an interest\/passion for theater and a little guts and courage.<\/p>\n

That same week, Maria Goos is teaching a screenwriting course.<\/p>\n
Sometimes her students also write something for my class.<\/p>\n
I work with a maximum of 8 students so that there is plenty of time and space for everyone, which means it doesn’t matter whether you have a lot of experience or none at all.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
